7% USE Credit Union 7 month certificate & other good rates

USE Credit Union is offering a 7% apy 7 month certificate of deposit. A deposit of exactly $2,500 in new money is required for this offer. In addition, you must have a $100 minimum deposit in the credit union's checking account and a $5.00 share account. Existing members who are unable to meet the new money requirement may qualify by referring a new member who takes advantage of this 7% cd. Note that is a more generous 7% special than was previously offered by USE and mentioned in my May 30th post. USE is also offering a 6.00% apy 18 month certificate with a minimum deposit is $5,000. You must have a separate $5.00 Ownership Share Account to open this certificate. You also may make additional deposits of $1,000 or greater before maturity with this 6.00% special. Field of membership is open to those who live, work, or worship in "Alameda, Sacramento, San Diego, Santa Clara, or Yolo County" as well as immediate family members and cohabitants of current USE Credit Union members. Members of certain select groups are eligible as well, including members of a local public television station, KPBS.
