Navy Federal Credit Union Rate Update, Share Certificate Rates up to 6.00%

Navy Federal Credit Union currently offers share certificates with rates as high as 6.00% apy. They now offer 6.00% apy on their 7 year regular and IRA share certificates. This is down from the 6.25% apy which the credit union offered in late January. The minimum deposit for this rate is $20,000. Lesser deposits starting at $1,000 earn 5.75% apy.

Navy Federal Credit Union also continues to offer 6.00% apy on a 15 month share certificate special. The minimum deposit for this special is $8,000. See my post from earlier this month for more information.

Field of membership for Navy Federal includes all Department of the Navy Personnel among others. See site for details. Navy Federal makes it easy for eligible family of current members to apply for new accounts. You just need the name, birth date, and social security number of a current member when you apply online. You then can add any additional members who are eligible by virtue of your membership on the same application. See site for details.
